Roosevelt State Park, Mississippi

I was in Mississippi for work and found time to activate Park K-2550, Roosevelt State Park. Being down south you would think it would be somewhat warm. Not this day. It was 45 degrees with a fairly strong wind and light rain. All I had was a sweatshirt and you could say I was a little chilly. After unpacking my gear and setting up my antenna, I turned on my radio and all I could hear was static. Almost did not do the activation. I called N1JUR and he reported that the bands were pretty noisy back in New England. I decided to go for it and see if I could activate this park. Once I got going, I ended up with 49 contacts. I thought I had 50, but one was a double. Good activation and my 20th new activated park. It was also my 3rd park I activated in Mississippi.
